Answers:
They have a supplement for dogs joint health, my dog takes it it lubricates there joints, its called Glucosamine HCL for dogs.
Also a child's Advil will help with joint swelling
give her half a tylonol --put it in a small piece of bread..let her swallow it.i did that several times to my little dog. why did you have to wait for that long? is the pet over-weight --sometimes they can not carry their own weight the four legs.you should worry then.whatever the case take her to the vet.it is a wise decision.
ps. you say she is "large" is that her normal size of just too fat..put her for sure on a strict diet --talk to the vet.
Actually, don't give the dog tylenol. It is very bad for dogs. Go get buffered aspirin, like Bayer. Many other pain relievers have additives that are harmful to dogs, including tylenol.
Find any dog food with glucosymne (glue-cose-a min) in it and find missing link with glucosymne that will do the trick i promise. go to pet smart. i know they carry the missing link. a dog food i know for sure that has that in it is Premium Edge. but i dont know if you can find that locally. if you feed both of these your dog will be so much better give him/her a month on this food and/or missing link. and you will see inprovements. i would love if you would keep in touch with me to let me know how he/she is doing.
first contact your vet and see if they offer any home care.they make make exceptions for very large lame dogs. NEVER GIVE YOUR DOG TYLENOL
Buffered aspirin can be ok, but you need ot find out form a vet the dosage.

Lastly, the dog needs special care.regular excercise for arthritic dogs, stretching excercises with you, an ortho bed.there are some great groups on Yahoo for canine arthritis.my dog is doing well on some supplements.do some research!

Also, you can help her walk by creating a sling.use a large bath towel and loop it under her back legs.you can help her support her weight that way.
MSM supplement and Flaxseed oil or fish oil in the diet. Go to your vet for the best care.
Are you sure it's not a stroke?Dogs don't just suddenly have arthritis, and arthritis doesn't make their legs go limp. You really should take her to a vet asap.Get someone to help you carry her.Use a blanket like a hammock.Just move her onto it and have someone take two corners and you take two, then you can get her into the car.
Your dog should be seen by your vet or an emergency clinic.. If she is unable to stand you can try and help her (just be careful and gentle), get a large beach towel-fold in half, place it under her back end to help to support her hind legs. If you feel that this will not work for your dog, call your vets office and ask them if you can borrow their hospital stretcher to put your pet on, you will of course need another person to help you if you use the stretcher. Good Luck
