Friendly Hello, Depending on the kind of injury will determine how fast your dog will heal. The best thing for your dog is rest. Swimming can further injur your dog if done to early and if the injury was server. The best you can do for you dog is make sure he or she stays as quiet and off his or her leg if at all possibly. A swollen lime, a broken leg all need healing time. Your dog will need to get up and use the bath room, stretch, eat. Try not to get your pet to excited that he or she could reinjure the leg more. I would give you vet a phone call and just really express to the vet that you wondered if there was anything the vet would recommend that would help heat faster. Follow all the directions the vet gives you right down to a T. Most likely you just paid or are paying on a huge vet bill. Take your vets advise very seriously. I sure hope your dog gets to feeling better soon. I know that it is probably had for you to see her in any discomfort. Not to mention how much fun they are to play with and just hang out with on a normal day to day routine. Blessings, Kelly
Keep her still,,the less she uses it right now the better.Give her a chewie (if she isnt really old) so she will lie down for awhile %26 stay off the leg.
try to keep her calm and stay off of it as much as she can, also try to wrap a cold wash cloth around it for 20 min.
Sit on the couch and pet your dog. This will make him want to sit and rest. Meanwhile- hold a cold compact on it. I think dogs can take an asprin too- but ask your vet about that. I am not too sure.
What was a bandage on her leg for in the first place? swimming helps heal limbs faster.
put the leg in cool water for about 10 mins. every couple hours.
