my dog has ticks and we keep finding them all over the house..read more?

my brother just found a tick on him this morning. whats the best way to get rid of ticks on ur dog?
Answers:
we vacum every day
Well u get some tick medicine. Kinda obvious.
First of all weigh your dog then call your local vet and ask about Revolution. The amount given is dependant on the weight of your dog.
I used it for my cat when she got flees (because of an idiot roomate) and it worked wonders.
In dogs it also works on tics and heartworm! And it's fairly inexpensive.
Get a prescribed treatment from your vet such as frontline or spot on. Then you will have to treat your house. Vaccuum EVERYWHERE your dog has been especially underneath radiators. Machine wash your dog's bedding. Also if you have grass in your garden, or hedges, this is where the ticks will come from. If you slab off your garden it will cut down on the amount of ticks you are finding.

TIP: Garlic capsules in your dog's dinner. One a day works a treat in preventing future infestations.
Flea + Tick bath continues to kills fleas and tick up to 2 weeks afterward use flea powder where your dog sleeps and lays down. Vacuum your carpets daily or more. Give your dog another bath in 2 weeks to get rid of eggs that were layed and have hatched since last bath. Apply another regime of flea + tick powder. This includes outside, like it's dog house. Do you have squirrels or the like they can carry pests. Do this and you won't need Vet bills.
FRONTLINE PLUS go to any vet.you need to know how much he or she weighs
Revolution. My dog and cat are both on it because of fleas, but it also protects indoor/outdoor animals from ticks, lice, and heartworm.

If they're in your home, you're going to need to see a doctor. There are tests for the diseases that ticks carry.

If you want to go to the trouble, find yourself a good tick killing bomb, spray, or powder and get to work.

Good luck!
For your dog, the best treament we've used is Frontline Plus. It's very effective. Warning! Never dip your dog and use a spot treatment.
For your house, I've used a product called Vet-Kem Fogger for years. You set the fogger off and come back 4 hours later. It will kill anything creeping or flying that comes into your house for almost a year (except spiders). I've never had any problems with it and even used it in the years of having babies crawling around on the floor.
I've posted the vet-kem website below, but I've always bought mine at the vet. I have had to use the site before to find a vet that carries their products.
If it was me I would build him own little inlaw apartment til that was under control. I would NEVER live with ticks. sorry to hear that.
go to the vet they would usually give u frontline plus and that get rid of ticks on him
I think ticks are especially bad this yr. I had never seen one up until a few wks ago.. When we found 2 on our dog %26 my boys were also in the back yard near the woods %26 a tick had jumped on one of them. But thats all we've seen so far. Thank goodness. Go to your pet store %26 see if they have some type of house bombs for fleas %26 ticks.. and bomb the entire house, etc. For the dog get the best shampoo you can to get rid of them %26 get the fle/tick treatment.
