my pets name is blackie.it is a female. It is 11 years old.it gave birth to pups about 6 years back.from past 2 years it was suffering from uterus problem (also urinary tract infection ) for which regular treatment was given. Now from past three days its intake of food and water reduced drastically and also it started to vomit, then the doctor got the blood test done where it was found that creatine levels are20 whereas normal values are 1to1.5. now from yesterday it has been put on drips without oral administration. I require your assistance asto how it can be treated better and chances of survival?
Answers:
Is this the only test in the blood panel that is abnormal? This dog could be in kidney failure, it could be addison's. Ask your vet for a diagnosis, instead of an elevated lab value to better figure the options.
There is nothing anyone can do about the creatinine levels in her body. It's not a good thing, and that is probably one of the reasons she has a urinary tract infection. The uti can be treated, but there is nothing else that can be done. Just make her as comfortable as possible. I, myself have very high creatinine levels, from muscular dystrophy, which is VERY painful. It does cause kidney failure. I'm sorry, I wish there was a cure.
