THIS HAPPEN TO ME WITH ONE OF MY BORDER COLLIE DOGS. WHAT WE DID WAS TAKE THE PUPPY THAT DIED AND A SMALL STUFFED TOY. AND THEN RUBBED SOME OF THE PUPPY SENT ON IT. AND THEN REPLACED THE DEAD PUPPY WITH THE STUFFED TOY ONE, IT SEEM TO HELP FOR A WHILE. AT LEAST THE MOM WASN'T GOING CRAZY LOOKING FOR THE PUP THAT HAD DIED. IT WILL GET BETTER I PROMISE. JUST HANG IN THERE. GIVE THE MOM LOTS OF LOVE.

If possible, you need to allow her to smell the deceased pup.
Oh how sad, I'm sorry to hear that. She will stop looking soon, give her more attention for a bit.

how did you not know the dog was pregnant?? you shouldn't be looking after a pet.
You can help her with a small stuffed toy, with any plastic parts removed..
Let your dog see her puppy for a few minutes. I know it will be difficult for you, but your dog may become restless and anxious b/c naturally she'll be searching for her puppy.
Sounds like a loving mother haven't noticed her pup has died. Sad, of course.
Give your dog a toy to take care of.

If you took the pup away from her it means that she knows the puppy is missing and now she's trying to find it. You should've left the pup for her to mourn and then taken it away when she left it alone. That is the reason for her looking for the pup.
